Revelations 11 (Part 4) The prophets death

By Odon Bulamba17 March 2006

“And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.” Revelations 11:7-14

A power will come from hell called the beast and the beast will attack and kill. The beast is part of the Roman Catholic Church today and this church is whoever accepts to be part of the Ecumenical Council and along with the United Nations they will decide to kill the two prophets in Revelations. For example, because of the influence of the power of hell, satan worshipers will find a place in government and be supported by many people, even the church will support them.

That power will grow up to the point that the Word of God, especially Jesus Christ, must not be talked about anymore but because the two prophets will continue to talk they will be killed and after being killed there will be a huge ceremony. In our churches today we start to live like this, to put the name of Jesus aside and the pastor becomes the idol in the church and people say, ‘do you remember what the pastor said,’ rather than looking at the Bible and we follow the rules of the church rather than the rules of the Bible. Because of blindness, the church will follow more and more the rules of the world than the rules of the Bible so the end time will be like the days of Noah when he said the world will be destroyed and you have to repent and the people said he was crazy.

The people were happy that the prophets were killed and they exchanged gifts and celebrated and didn’t bury their bodies in order to mock them and how many times to we expose the Word of God and mock it? When it is written, don’t steal, but when the opportunity comes I steal. Sometime we mock God but we need to respect God our Father who is God. Our God is not impossible to reach but we are abusing His power, His kingdomship, his level of knowledge and we try to prove to God He is stupid. We have to recognize His power and He manifests His power through people and that is why we have to love our neighbor.

How many times do we mock others, how many times do we look at others and bring them down. Are we better than that person? We who think we are the best are actually the last one.

After three days of mocking, God intervened and He spoke to the dead bodies and they came alive and those who were mocking were shocked. Because God was angry He brought an earthquake which brings panic and fear because people can see death and at the place where Jesus was crucified He also brought an earthquake. This was Golgotha and this is a place where you and I have to stand whether we have done good or bad.

Golgotha means skull and skulls have a meaning; they all look the same and you can’t tell by looking at it to whom it belongs and if you see a skull you will think of danger. Jesus puts His trust in us but we let Him down and we put God in a dangerous situation where He becomes afraid of our faith, and when we do things against Jesus we crucify Him again on the cross.

When God will raise up the two witnesses from the dead there will be a great earthquake and 7,000 people will be killed and often with God when He says 7,000 it will be 7,000 to the power of 7,000 so many will be killed and the number seven and the number 1,000 has a meaning for God.

People will be afraid during that time and not have peace and a tenth of the world will be destroyed and people will not repent but instead will glorify God and how many times do we also worship God while there is sin in our lives. When we are wrong the first thing we must do is to accept I am a sinner and to fix that problem with the person and with God. We are good at neglecting this and yet we are good at exposing others when they are wrong.

As these two witnesses accepted to die for the glory of God we also must accept to be hated by others. The Church needs the message of prophets and so don’t be the first one to stone them to revenge yourself. These people were given a warning in verse 14, ‘the second woe has past and the third is coming’ meaning that the kingdom of satan is growing up day after day and we as Christians see it but we neglect it and woe to those who neglect it but if you want to please God don’t neglect because God sees everything.

We only want to read big things in the Bible and neglect the little things and we only want the big roles in Church but when God asks us to do small things we neglect it. The second stage has past and our church has past through that and now the seven trumpets are coming and all of this is to prepare us for the end of time. If God comes back today will you be among those who mocked, will you be among those who shared gifts while others are in trouble, will you be in the group of people who say it’s too much with God and put Him aside?
