The Book of Life

By Angela Bhandal

Revelations 20:11-15

What is the criteria for your name to be in the book of life?

John 3:16; "Believe"
Acts 13:46-48; "Honor the Word of God"
Romans 6:22-23; "Be set free from sin" and "become slaves of God"
I John 5:11-12; "Having the Son - Jesus Christ"
I John 1:8; "Confess our sins"

*There has to be some kind of transformation*
Anyone can claim to believe in Jesus, even the demons do that, but to be assured that your name is in the book of life, you need evidence which is spiritual fruit. Spiritual fruit (joy, peace, love, kindness etc) comes from practising the above verses).

How can I know that my name is written in the book of life?

If we are practising all those things , plus things that God ask us in His Word the Bible, and we see the fruit of the spirit in us growing day after day, then we have no need to doubt. We, like Paul in Philippians 4:3, can say with certainty and hope, that our names are written in the book of life.

As A Christian, do I need to be concerned that my name could be removed?

Revelations 3:1-6; refers to the church today which has the appearance of being alive but is spiritually dead.

Jude 5-7

Malachi3:16-17

SUMMARY

To ensure your name is written in the book of life, you have to believe in Jesus Christ, confess your sins, be changed, obey the Word of God, possess the fruit of the Holy Spirit and fear God.
